Imam Husain School Teachers

Imam Husain School Teachers

Our Teachers

Our teachers are some of the most dedicated, educated members of the community and come from varied backgrounds. With a total of 30 volunteer teachers, assistants and support personnel, Imam Husain School continues to shine.

Each of our teachers undergoes an interview process, has to possess a current working with children check and has to commit to some form of continuous training and development.
We still need more members of the community to put their hands up not only to teach but to support teachers in administration, ancillary tasks such as preparing food for canteen, discipline and assisting in excursions and programs.
We have held 12 teachers training programs (usually before each term except the 4th term) to date with a reasonable degree of success. Each training session has been associated with a concurrent teachers meeting. Teachers were trained on:

  1. 1-Presenting the syllabus (specific topics and how to handle questions)
  2. 2-Class control techniques and strategies
  3. 3-Class management and lesson planning
  4. 4-Strategies of teaching Quran
  5. 5-Setting and meeting standards of professional practice in teaching

In addition,

  • Every teacher from this year (Quran and Islamic Studies) is required to complete one e-hawza course every term as part of professional training.
  • Professional teachers have been addressing and training our teachers on class management techniques.
